Hindsight is a small daily game for people who like history but don't like quizzes. Instead of multiple choice, you play detective: narrow down the century, the continent and the kind of event, then make the call.
Every puzzle is a moment most people have heard of, from the pyramids of Giza to the first iPhone. The goal isn't to catch you out on dates; it's the “oh, of course!” when the picture snaps sharp.
The pictures are original digital illustrations made with an AI image model and checked by hand. They are artistic impressions, not photographs, and deliberately show no text and no recognisable faces. Suggestion and date questions are answered from a hand-written fact sheet for each event. Free-form questions are answered by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude) that reads the same fact sheet; answers are cached so everyone gets the same reply to the same question.
If you think an answer or a fact is wrong, please tell us via the contact page. We fix mistakes quickly.
